6 Americans missing after plane crashes

This article talks about how five passengers and a pilot of a plane were reported as missing after the plane they were traveling in crashed off the coast of Puerto Rico. The passengers were all residence of Puerto Rico and they had left there on Friday for a trip to the Dominican Republic. They had planned on returning on Sunday sometime after their weekend getaway. They were scheduled to land in Carolina after being in the Dominican Republic because they had to go there for customs. After that they could then land in Puerto Rico in there original destination. After the plane crashed and the 911 call was made the coast guards realized that it was this plane based on the information of the landing scheduled in Carolina earlier in the day. As of now the people have not been found but some debris was found around the area where the crash was. There have been many searches already, 5 during the day on sunday, 2 more on sunday during the night, and three more are scheduled for today. I believe that this crash could have been prevented if the plane would have landed in Carolina like it was originally supposed to do. If they would have landed there and then moved on to Puerto Rico they would have avoided the crash, because whatever happened that caused the plane crash wouldn't have been there if they went through that area later.
